There was only a glimpse of the latter, but the key art is identical to Tilting Point’s successful SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off game, so it looks like that is also getting stripped of IAP and reworked for Netflix’s no ads, no IAP service. Netflix’s games were introduced by Jamie Foxx, a slight upgrade from Geoff Keighley, who was on duty for a similar thing back in June (Sorry Geoff).Ĭloser to launch are Ustwo Games’ Desta: The Memories Between and SpongeBob Squarepants Get Cooking, both incoming on September 27. Indie favourite Kentucky Route Zero is also on the list of games coming “soon” to the streaming service. Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited is also incoming “soon”, which is presumably an IAP-free version of Tilting Point’s existing builder-battler Narcos: Cartel Wars. Stranger Things Puzzle Tales, also from the now Netflix-owned Next Games, will also be joining the games catalogue at some point, which was expected – the game was removed from app stores earlier this year. Netflix’s second studio buy, Next Games, also got some airtime: The Finnish studio’s debut Compass Point West looks to have been resurrected and will be arriving on Netflix “soon”, according to a brief sizzle reel of forthcoming games during the Tudum stream. The release of Oxenfree is no great surprise, as its creator Night School Studio was Netflix’s first major games acquisition back in September 2021. Netflix used its Tudum showcase to announce that Night School Studio’s Oxenfree is now live – and also confirmed several other new games.
